August Top Tips
#1 Frost
Leave frost damaged plants until a likelihood of frost has passed.
#2 Harvest
Avocadoes will flower soon. Harvest a couple of fruits remaining fruits daily to ensure a good supply next season.
#3 Potatoes
Get ready to plant potatoes. They are an easy (and fun) crop to grow, especially in potato bags.
#4 Manure
Apply aged chicken manure and compost to vegetable garden beds ready for spring planting and sowing next month.

Spray fruit trees for leaf curl before buds open: copper spray or lime sulphur and then again at bud swell (leaf curl affects peach, nectarines, almonds and other prunus spp).
