Pomegranate 'Wonderful'
Exported from California throughout the world, this variety of pomegranate has become the world standard. Noted for its rich red colour and piquant flavour, 'Wonderful' can be eaten as fresh fruit or juiced. Popular because the seeds of this variety are less woody than others. A vigorous and productive Mediterranean fruiting plant suitable for growing in dryer parts of the garden.
How to grow
Pomegranates grow well in areas with cold winters and hot, dry summers. Drought tolerant once established, pomegranates will also tolerate coastal conditions and frost. Water during fruiting to improve quality and fruit set. Plant in a free-draining soil as trees dislike waterlogging. Plants are self-fertile but yield is improved with cross-pollination.
