Wormwood 'Valerie Finnis'
An invaluable silver-foliaged plant with distinctive lance-shaped leaves terminating in striking white leaf rosettes, this perennial was named for 'Valerie Finnis', a renowned British photographer and gardener. Grown purely for its beautiful foliage, it is an excellent foil in the garden or perennial border, where it maintains its striking silvery-white colour through the season. Also suited to cut flower arrangements.
How to grow
Tolerant of summer heat and some humidity, prune off insignificant flowerheads as they appear in summer to maintain foliage focus and density. Cut back to base in autumn to make way for fresh, silvery new growth. drought-tolerant once established. Thrives in full sun, poor to moderately fertile, dry to moist soil. Suited to pots and garden beds, with good drainage essential to avoid die back.
