Wheatgrass Sprouts (Organic)
1. Soak 1 cup of seed in water for 12-24 hours. 2. Drain and keep seeds in a colander or sieve for an additional day to start sprouting. Rinse a couple of times to prevent seeds from drying out. 3. Place a layer of paper towel over the base of a propagation tray (with drainage holes) and spread around 1cm of organic seed raising mix over the paper towel. 4. Next, spread your seed over the top of the mix and water well. Space evenly for optimal germination. 5. Cover with paper towel or a damp tea towel and place on a bench away from direct sunlight. Mist with water to keep towel damp, but not wet. 6. Uncover in 2-3 days time and water again. Leave uncovered away from direct heat and sunlight and water as necessary. 7. Wheatgrass should be ready to harvest within 7 days. Harvest with scissors at least 2-3cm above the soil surface and serve as juice. Dispose of leftover grass and mix in the compost.
