Tatarian Aster
Long revered throughout Asia for its medicinal properties, Tartarian aster also makes for an impressive addition to a perennial border. Starting out with a luscious mound of green foliage from which tall stem arise, atop which sits a profusion of gorgeous, pollinator attracting, lavender-blue flowers during the autumn months.
How to grow
Needs a lot of space. Pinch back plants in mid-summer to maintain a bushy shape. Deadhead spent blooms to prevent self seeding.
