Scleranthus biflorus 'Lime Lava'
A lush, moss-like ground cover that forms soft, emerald-green mounds, cascading like molten lava over rocks and pathways. Thrives in full sun to part shade with well-drained soil, creating a striking textural contrast in garden beds or between pavers. Drought-tolerant once established, it’s the perfect choice for a low-maintenance, sculptural effect.
How to grow
Best in full sun with regular moisture, and will also do well in partial shade. Suits most soil types. Will tolerate dry spells and frost. Works well as a lawn substitute in light traffic areas. Fungus can cause brown patches, which can be remedied with a good fungicide watered onto the plant.
