Scarlet Flax

A hardy spring flowering annual that makes a lovely cut flower, plants are drought tolerant once established. Resist sowing too thickly as they look best with a little room to grow. Frost sensitive.
How to grow

Scarlet Flax dislikes root disturbance so is best sown directly. Whilst drought tolerant once established, seed needs constant moisture to germinate. Sow in autumn in most areas or leave until spring in areas with frost. Seed should germinate in 3-4 weeks. Water regularly until plants reach around 30cm and then wean watering back to natural rainfall.
