Salvia azurea
Mass flowers of the softest sky-blue are the reward for even the laziest gardener. The heavenly blue flowers, on erect green flowering stems, are held above linear grey-green foliage, providing a perfect landing for bees and beneficial insects. Flowering in full sun during summer and peaking in autumn, this herbaceous perennial dies down over winter.
How to grow
Prefers full sun, but will tolerate light shade. Drought tolerant once established. Best planted among other perennials that will provide support and help stems remain upright. Remove spent flowers regularly to promote repeat flowering and hard prune after winter dormancy to allow new growth to flourish.
