Sourced from Africa where talented weavers use the long slender leaves from the endemic elephant grass to create these striking and durable baskets. Available in 2 sizes, each features a hard-wearing leather handle. Please note, measurements may vary as these products are handmade and each represents the talents of the individual weaver. Elephant Grass grows naturally around waterholes in the Sahel Region of West Africa. All measurements are approximate at the widest point. Small: Perfect for eggs, herbs and collecting fresh garden ingredients. (15cm diameter). Large: Take to the shops and use as your everyday carry-all. (25cm diameter).

Distributed to The Diggers Club through fair trade connections, Hamish Kwesi Burns (Our Supplier) works in direct partnership with his brothers who still live in their hometown in Ghana. As a family, they source and manufacture products from Africa and South America, where he trades with absolute confidence in both his products and trade processes. Traditional products are imported with care and their craftspeople are daily compensated for their hard work and talent.
