Phlomis tuberosa 'Bronze Flamingo'

This rare and striking Jerusalem Sage ‘Bronze Flamingo’ is a must-have for gardeners seeking a bold, drought-tolerant perennial with year-round appeal. Soft, sage-green foliage forms an elegant base, while stunning coppery-bronze bracts encase rich pink flowers from late spring to summer, creating an eye-catching contrast that lasts long after the blooms fade.

Perfect for dry borders, Mediterranean gardens, and tough spots, this resilient beauty thrives in full sun with minimal water, making it an excellent choice for low-maintenance, pollinator-friendly landscapes. Bees and butterflies adore it, and its architectural form adds striking texture to mixed plantings.

Tough yet incredibly ornamental, ‘Bronze Flamingo’ is a true performer—whether planted en masse for impact or as a standout feature in a gravel garden.

How to grow

Performs best in full sun in moderately fertile to humus fertile, free-draining soil, but adaptable to a variety of conditions. Drought, heat, coast and frost tolerant once established. Flower spires may be left over winter for their interesting seedheads. In mid-spring shorten any damaged or weak stems, cutting back to just above the base.
