Phlomis 'Lemon Blush'
Masses of soft yellow-primrose hooded flowers, faintly blushed pink, are held in whorls along upright spires during spring and occasionally in summer. The soft felted grey-green heart-shaped leaves with softer grey edges and undersides form a dense, handsome foliage mound all year, providing a great foil for other colourful perennials. Thriving in summer with blistering heat, this Jerusalem Sage is tough, reliable and attractive to pollinators. Great on slopes or difficult, exposed positions.
How to grow
Performs best in full sun in moderately fertile to humus fertile, free-draining soil, but adaptable to a variety of conditions. Drought, heat, coast and frost tolerant once established. Flower spires may be left over winter for their interesting seedheads or removed after spring flowering to encourage spot flowering in summer, particularly if treated to an occasional watering during extended dryness.
