Onion 'Yellow Sweet Spanish'
A favourite heirloom variety producing large, golden-brown bulbs with crisp, white flesh and a mild, sweet flavour. Perfect for slicing fresh, cooking, or caramelising. A long-day onion with excellent storage potential, it thrives in well-drained soil and full sun. Sow in autumn for a summer harvest or early spring for a late-season crop. Reliable, easy to grow, and ideal for the home gardener.
How to grow
All onions require rich, well drained soil. Onion seed can be sown directly into the garden, however many gardeners fiind it more effective to sow into punnets and transplant. It is essential to keep onions weed free. Harvest onions grown for their bulbs (not spring onions) when the leaves wither and collapse.
