New Zealand Wind Grass
A compact and elegant ornamental grass with narrow arching leaves, which change from green to warm auburn tones of orange, tan and red in summer and autumn. Commonly known as New Zealand Wind Grass, it's an excellent accent plant, suitable for pots and as a year-round highlight in the perennial border.
How to grow
This highly adaptable, drought tolerant grass from NZ suits a full sun or part shaded position. Comb dead or dry leaves from the tuft in early spring to allow for new growth. A moderate self seeder, new plants are quick to establish or propagate by division in mid-spring when actively growing. Mature plants can be cut back hard every 3-4 years to rejuvenate. Roots prone to rot in poorly drained soils.
