Salvia nemorosa 'Rose Wine'
'Rosenwein' is German for `rose wine' and is the perfect description for this unusual coloured salvia. The claret-coloured buds open to reveal rosy-pink flowers. Tolerant of dry conditions once established, this floriferous salvia is a garden highlight from October to December. Combines beautifully with catmint, lavender and other pastels in the flower border.
How to grow
Plant in full sun in free-draining soil. Remove spent flowers regularly to encourage repeat flowering. Regular watering will be required to extend the flowering season. Prune back hard after flowering has finished in summer, especially if plants have become floppy.
