Lime Verbena
Use the leaves to make a refreshing tea, or add to a summer salad for a burst of lime, this fast growing perennial can be planted as a seasonal hedge or toward the rear of your garden bed as a background edible for colour and fragrance.
How to grow
Protect from frost and cold winter temperatures using a cloche or tunnel. Prune back in late autumn to make it easier to cover in winter. Fertilise in spring to encourage lush new growth and ample foliage for harvesting or cuttings. Tip prune regularly to promote compact growth.
