Deschampsia cespitosaPopular with garden designers, this marvelous evergreen grass forms tussocks of stiff, green leaves, which are topped by arching sprays of delicate flower spikes throughout the summer. Plant in groups of 3 or 4 for maximum impact.

Grows well in full sun to light shade. In warmer climates, it needs semi-shade and moist conditions otherwise flower production may be reduced. Remove fading flower-heads in late winter before new growth appears or cut back hard to renew tatty foliage. Remove seed heads to prevent self seeding in warmer areas and unwanted seedlings when they appear.
