Capsicum 'Lipstick'
Capsicum Lipstick is a compact variety that matures early, making it perfect for cool climates. The fruit grows to about 10 cm long, featuring a pointed shape. This capsicum has super sweet, thick flesh with delightful fruity undertones, ideal for both fresh consumption and cooking. They ripen from green to a glossy red, adding vibrant colour to any dish or garden. Thanks to their compact size, these plants are excellent for growing in containers, allowing for versatility in various gardening spaces.
The capsicum family have a greater demand for heat than tomatoes, so in cooler areas start your capsicums indoors so that they can be planted outside as advanced seedlings after the risk of frost has passed. Choose a warm, sunny spot and cultivate it deeply adding dolomite to supply the capsicums need for calcium and magnesium. Regular harvesting improves the productivity and vigour of the plant. Pick the fruit using secateurs to avoid damaging the plant and wear gloves when harvesting chillies!
