Canary Island Lavender
Native to the Canary Islands, this drought tolerant, frost tender perennial is unlike most other lavenders, but just as worthy of a place in our gardens. With green foliage (not silver or grey) it's soft delicate appearance belies its hardiness, while it's flowers stand tall like elegant tridents on long slender stems. Low maintenance and easy to grow, Canary Island Lavender is also attractive to bees and beneficial insects.
How to grow
Thriving in hot, dry conditions, this tender perennial will tolerate cold conditions, but dislikes frost and waterlogging. Plant in full sun in a free-draining soil. Deadhead to extend flowering, Prune if required in spring to maintain a compact habit.
