Boysenberry
A delicious berry best grown in the home garden due to its short-shelf life but exceptional flavour. Easy to grow, prolific and productive, this berry can be eaten fresh or turned into myriad preserves, which is often the only way most people can enjoy them if not picked fresh from the backyard.
How to grow
FLORICANE - These self pollinating boysenberries fruit on second year wood. Prune to the ground after fruiting, but only remove the canes that have already produced fruit. Plant in full sun in soil enriched with organic matter. Mulch after planting to minimise weed growth. Apply blood and bone in autumn and early spring. Train canes to a trellis.
