Blackberry 'Waldo'
Virtually thornless once established, this early fruiting variety bears large intensely black berries of exceptional flavour. Less vigorous than other blackberry hybrids so it's easier to train and harvest. Fruit is produced on previous years growth so only prune after fruiting.
How to grow
FLORICANE - These self pollinating berries fruit on second year wood. Prune after fruiting, but only remove the canes that have already produced fruit. Plant in full sun in soil enriched with organic matter. Mulch after planting to minimise weed growth. Apply blood and bone in autumn and early spring. Train canes to a trellis.
