Ballota 'Dwarf'
Useful in any garden, the dense, felted, silver-grey leaves are the perfect complement to pastel plantings, grasses and other perennials. A lovely evergreen mounding shrub, valued for its compact size, this dwarf ballota is less sprawling than its relatives and provides foreground structure all year round. Grown primarily for its foliage, the small pink and white flowers appearing in summer can be removed. Suits containers, rockeries and a front of border position where this dry-tolerant, easy care perennial will thrive on neglect.
How to grow
Plant in full sun, requires very good drainage, thriving in poor or sandy soils. Drought and heat tolerant. Suits rock gardens, containers and front of border positions. Grown primarily for its foliage, remove or deadhead spent flowerheads and hard prune in spring to maintain shape or if plant becomes leggy over time.
