Agastache 'Apricot Sprite'
Agastache 'Apricot Sprite' makes a great addition to the perennial or coastal garden with its hardy nature and long flowering ability. Its striking apricot-orange tubular flower spikes provide a blaze of colour in hot borders or as a complement to blues, purples and creams in a mixed planting scheme. Adored by bees, birds and insects, also known as Hummingbird Mint or Hyssop, Agastaches are a must have to bring biodiversity and pollinators to the garden. Fabulously fragrant, anise scented foliage is an added bonus - plant beside a path where it can be brushed up against and use the leaves for steeping in teas.
How to grow
Agastaches are hardy summer flowering perennials. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil. Drought tolerant once established, though will benefit from supplementary watering during extended dry periods. Deadhead regularly to prolong flowering and prune back to a low mound in winter or early spring.
