Food Forests are a mixed layer edible perennial tree system that generally have at least 3-7 layers. Ranging from the over-storey (Top Layer), mid storey, shrubs, berries/climbers, herbs, groundcovers and root crops.
In this masterclass, Chris will cover how to simplify creating a food forest to fit your needs, what you want to eat and space requirements. Looking at design principles to help you plan and plant your own food forest. Time will be given to answering your individual questions relating to setting up your own food forest in your yard.

Your Presenter
Chris Day from Every Day Sustainable Living and Cockatoo Creek Farm, has been growing food and actively participating in and teaching Permaculture and Sustainable living since early 2000.
He runs workshops all over South Australia. He has also done a TV segment on Gardening Australia with one of his gardens on Subtropical Fruit Tree Growing in South Australia.
With a focus on productive edible landscapes in urban, rural and community settings, he teaches, designs and installs gardens to suit the individual site and client.
He is passionate about the actions we can do together to regenerate community and the environment, for current and future generations.
