Homemade Tabasco Chilli Sauce

Traditionally made with fermented tabasco chillies, this non-fermented version is just as tasty in a fraction of the time. 

Homemade Tabasco Chilli Sauce

Traditionally made with fermented tabasco chillies, this non-fermented version is just as tasty in a fraction of the time.  

Ingredients

  • 140g Tabasco Chilli (deseeded and roughly chopped) 
  • 1 cup white wine vinegar
  • Pinch of salt

Method

  1.  Add all ingredients into a small saucepan and bring to the boil. Be sure to turn on the rangehood to vent the fumes. 
  2. Turn the heat down and allow mixture to simmer for 20 minutes. 
  3. Turn off and allow to cool. 
  4. Place all ingredients in a blender or  food processor and blend to a smooth consistency. 
  5. Taste and add pure water, vinegar, salt and/or salt to taste. 
  6. Strain and bottle in a sterilised jar. 
  7. Store in the fridge.
