Whether you are a complete beginner or a more experienced gardener, you'll benefit from our new Digger's programme of "Learn to Garden" monthly events at Heronswood and St Erth. These events focus on a wide range of essential gardening topics, techniques and skills, as well as focusing on specific plants and tasks to suit the season. Through inspiring and insightful garden walks and talks, practical demonstrations and workshops, gardening skills and knowledge will be yours from our experts on the third Sunday of each month at 11.00am

December 7 - Digging Up the Dirt On Soil

Healthy soil is vital to successful gardening and good production. Join Jayne Anderson as she explains types of soil, how to improve it, pH and its effects, improving soil fertility and more.

January 17 - Basketmaking

Join Jill Taylor as she demonstates the basics of basketmaking from natural fibres. Those garden clippings you thought were only good enough for the compost can be revitalised to produce beautiful and functional baskets.

January 18 - Fruit Tree Q & A Session

If you are just starting out with fruit trees or are a seasoned gardener, Phil Shepherd of Shepherd's Nurseries will be on hand to answer any fruit tree questions you may have. Phil will be answering questions about temperate and cold climate fruit trees.
